Short bio:

Chiara Cagnazzo is a physicist with a PhD held at the Ecole Polytechnique in France.

She is expert in climate variability and global changes, Earth and atmospheric numerical modeling, climate predictability, stratospheric composition and dynamics, Evaluation of climate models, troposphere-stratosphere coupling, atmosphere-ocean coupling processes, use of atmosphere and ocean reanalyses. She is author of more than 40 peer reviewed publications. She worked in France and she has been long-term visitor in the USA and in Germany. Her research is dedicated to understanding the role of the atmospheric variability and its representation in models on climate predictability at different timescales: from sub-seasonal to decadal as well as on long term projections. In the last 3 years she has been working within the Copernicus Climate Change Service where she is today technical leader of the C3S 511 Service (Evaluation and Quality Control of the Copernicus C3S Climate Data Store ECVs- satellite & global reanalyses).

My best professional achievement:

The description of the stratospheric dynamics in Climate Models to improve long-term climate change projections. Contribution to the IPCC AR5 Report on Climate Change. Contribution to the 2018 WMO/UNEP Scientific Assessment of Ozone Depletion.

My best personal achievement:

Playing and singing Renaissance music with historical instruments
